Footprints in the Sand

: q  M# G# Y5 u1 `. ]9 g8 JOne night I had a dream
4 o. b# F" g- K* r+ u. y) W3 AI was walking along the beach with my Lord.) d+ u) }- b. |7 {; Y
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.  t0 f6 k3 j7 F% @; b, Z
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
, ]4 L  W; B6 s/ w3 K  Kone belonging to me
  D( d/ E; L7 P/ y3 _- Y; o9 N9 Gand the other to my Lord.; x0 b- ?' F+ l9 e" N: K1 ^9 V
When the last scene of my life shot before me
6 I2 ^/ G2 U) ~, \3 k% zI looked back at the footprints in the sand.0 h) j8 @  t( J9 z- P& R
There was only on set of footprints.
+ A0 B" N' @# S" I9 o5 aI realized that this was at the lowest 8 K! D/ v0 b9 z. {
and saddest times in my life.
2 p! j% O9 D( g- _This always bothered me 7 ]  W; n$ F) X6 |# t
and I questioned the Lord( F: S/ x  E8 V
about my dilemma.- e0 H6 B4 B( ~3 k- ^6 w
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
1 f! F- f' ^% c/ y  t1 g$ M' v* p8 KYou would walk and talk with me all the way.( C' c. v% u6 o+ s
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome ! ^3 m. R+ b2 [  V5 c% w' W
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.4 S9 J: x" X( `: Z( {4 v
I don't understand why, when I needed You most, ! m$ l2 P2 H9 C
you leave me."1 v2 d2 |' o7 O) N7 c& n
