Chinese Restaurant Need Chef and Cook
Kwong Tung Seafood Restaurant is hiring Chinese cuisine chef and cook.
Chefs will report to Executive Chef ,Cook and Floor Manager, and interface with servers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Finish High School and/or vocational training for cooking
Must hold cook trade certificate
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience, preferred in restaurant environment
Applicants with certificates or rewards are to be considered first
Language
Must speak and read Mandarin or Cantonese. English is a strong asset.
Cuisine Specialty
One of Cantonese, Northern Chinese, Sichuan, Mandarin cuisine,Shanghai cuisine
Other Requirements
Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge
Understanding of proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment
Physically demanding, must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds
Work in fast pace, 90% of time standing
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
- Estimate food requirements and costs
- Prepare and cook meals and specialty foods according to customer orders
- Instruct cooks in preparation, garnishing and presentation of food
- Ensure quality of food and portion control
- Demonstrates new cooking techniques and equipment
- Create new recipes and plan menus
- Perform additional duties, although not detailed, as required by floor manager
- Clean kitchen and maintain a safe working environment.
