Lord, 2 T6 G9 t3 p$ i$ f ~( u7 ^
having transformed2 Z+ t+ O* Q4 {# ?% C
sunshine and soil and water and seed,
2 D9 |, d5 e+ @into food upon which we are soon to feed, ) r- b3 i- L4 M7 A
we thank you for life and we want to stay well, : _* H9 @6 }6 V
so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.( c Q% ~: L4 b* d" x Y
We who came first and are ready to dine
7 _- v9 c$ p# d: g& d# Ythank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
- `% ~. j2 l6 ^8 d, }6 V5 L! `but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait, L9 n; E; o" A5 T3 J) u
we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
0 i3 D9 P1 ?3 x* x! k, wInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
9 [1 Y4 i7 b7 x7 u: \4 i' bthe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

. ?6 U: R/ }& Z- q9 p! BWe smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
/ t9 Z3 ]# O& y( }the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
/ K) ~' }- l" R- \We thank you for people so generous and kind
