Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream
6 U+ X! z$ l" X0 ]% ?4 t. zI was walking along the beach with my Lord.* C' @8 u9 m( Q3 H# N
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
) ^" p7 ^% }) `+ `* LFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,) O5 S' V" m& i) @" X* k0 k
one belonging to me/ R$ h7 j& O2 x4 \, Q0 N# K' {+ M
and the other to my Lord.
0 L4 v7 |% v5 ~When the last scene of my life shot before me; r! V$ Z) V: T1 p
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
9 H8 s7 b9 _3 k5 _There was only on set of footprints.
/ E2 n$ n( r- K8 lI realized that this was at the lowest ! a& b% m: I, l! }/ B3 T. a
and saddest times in my life.
4 R. S9 u7 ?2 W( R9 QThis always bothered me $ D! @8 c6 A6 v
and I questioned the Lord% C% I/ W' L+ n9 P% d  i
about my dilemma.; m$ {2 \2 |* R* K
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You," W- N, b$ f' ~1 ]2 g7 }$ Y9 v+ z
You would walk and talk with me all the way.7 g# M* i, M. k- V) ?5 f( X" T
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome , _9 F) e) b9 N$ v( e
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.# M8 J0 A! M2 I7 M1 r  v2 A/ u
I don't understand why, when I needed You most, ; y7 O( ^! k" Y8 ~6 J& v
you leave me."
