Footprints in the Sand$ v( C7 R: X/ [9 B# @7 F3 s

( ^1 u3 @  g6 \8 r& QOne night I had a dream
. m- h& W! c. ~4 y- L8 ?7 u) m( eI was walking along the beach with my Lord.+ W* @+ u" S; Z
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
8 i) ]0 q7 c( x/ v+ b& {For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,, o8 H: e/ S: K% _3 T5 ]& j$ B
one belonging to me
- [" R6 c- f; z+ H( a# x- Gand the other to my Lord.6 Z# P2 T  z% x2 s/ G8 w
When the last scene of my life shot before me0 P0 F2 P; k- |6 L8 s2 R2 p2 _( t
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.4 Y; C) T3 g9 T% n2 T3 S
There was only on set of footprints.
+ R9 t1 \: w9 K* f7 oI realized that this was at the lowest ) R3 W0 W0 g: H5 T' ?/ y$ H- U9 x6 a
and saddest times in my life.( @, G8 o; k) O& t9 c! G
This always bothered me 5 r6 p9 o, A' ]0 _
and I questioned the Lord
7 }2 U. G  O; q: `$ k$ g1 Q" Oabout my dilemma.6 g" Y+ l( c4 V% O* S
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,' P% d! w" y. j) w
You would walk and talk with me all the way.$ o& g  Q8 V1 |$ t5 g
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome * l4 l) H& a, b8 o, _& u/ _
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.
9 }, Z1 y  M/ N  ^+ G, F" Z! F0 BI don't understand why, when I needed You most, 5 J! j8 p& K4 u7 m  D
you leave me."
& M$ v' w; \. JHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,- k1 ?  G" i8 Y# a( n: r
I love you and will never leave you# `7 P0 T0 R5 ]& A8 Y' f
never, ever during your times of trial and testings.& E4 Z) F! w6 G/ I7 p
When you saw only one set of footprints6 [+ N6 n+ B* G( L9 y2 u; s
It was then that I carried you."* c8 q# L2 l7 F0 W
