One night I had a dream2 o* `8 v1 \! ^6 T* I
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.) t" l5 _/ N* @& W
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.- p" d& B8 b4 q/ _
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
7 u. l; n6 Q; C) `+ B* Q* none belonging to me
0 @% |5 u3 R8 P+ M6 Yand the other to my Lord.- m' }+ y/ d+ E, q' W- M& z: ^1 c5 @' N
When the last scene of my life shot before me% w. F1 @. L' S: G
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.. n8 i: _; b" O
There was only on set of footprints.
* P5 Q* b1 y3 c4 B( D' MI realized that this was at the lowest + E) X1 V$ ]& M4 k. a2 }
and saddest times in my life.
, ^, P1 v8 t6 P  ~. B" h; }6 wThis always bothered me
0 k- w$ R, T3 C8 a2 e, x8 @3 ~and I questioned the Lord5 r2 G% j9 l6 `% Z4 O5 L
about my dilemma./ A7 s* q2 O. J. F: ~. C4 l
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
- u5 a: T( i: _5 z: }" vYou would walk and talk with me all the way.# F$ N4 a( F( z9 @- a6 w  F$ q
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
9 P: b' K8 t; o- W% x- atimes of my life there is only one set of footprints., D+ z% A. g8 s; M; `
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
9 a; I) g4 ~' r. e5 W, i7 o$ syou leave me."
/ I# L& Z6 c# N5 xHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,
( Y3 T+ B) B$ b+ g; {I love you and will never leave you) o3 O( ]9 K  h& q; i" C+ w8 X
never, ever during your times of trial and testings.

It was then that I carried you."
