Lord,
5 G a( {6 |3 i4 r, n! E0 P5 hhaving transformed
. P, B( ?! S7 r2 m n9 ?sunshine and soil and water and seed,
`* f2 B, j4 b, f4 Einto food upon which we are soon to feed, $ o$ [% P/ s# B8 U" w
we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
; g8 o9 x, @) Iso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
' F( x# ]' J8 b/ cWe who came first and are ready to dine/ ~+ w1 M. f- X, n" F: v
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
& g9 A1 Q# I: A( t! ]' }but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait, ) F! B' P) a3 K F* p/ T4 Z
we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.
) j( y7 i0 E- _. c# z; a; T3 nInstead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others $ a/ x* ^) y! n) l. j% B1 p
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.1 n- k0 G5 J6 f# `

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
: t, K6 n! r j" K2 Xthe aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted ( ?! R7 T" p2 W% y( Q
We thank you for people so generous and kind
