Lord, 9 `$ a( M! [2 e/ l
having transformed
- W4 Y6 f( P) J* c l% ^sunshine and soil and water and seed,/ V' l) U0 t% L9 Y" y8 K# {0 ]
into food upon which we are soon to feed,
6 b R9 a( L$ X6 b$ h7 Ywe thank you for life and we want to stay well,
0 _6 _' o0 w7 P+ Dso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
( ]+ q8 U6 `- a# nWe who came first and are ready to dine
- w O5 c; E+ H; A6 {- U- Y- ]thank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
n: B' C+ R4 V+ h7 r! r4 Xbut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait, 3 T; ]0 {. c0 s5 f8 e0 I' ?1 i0 m
we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.. t+ U, b: a: l! O B
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others ' g) U& F( F3 @3 V( H( v
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.4 P+ V* P4 S# ?, b
Now,
* b* c% A5 ?& B7 k5 z+ c. JWe smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
! @4 z4 c/ X4 F% u& c0 m2 I$ k3 b- rthe aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted - c7 X( q: m; L2 [3 z( Y
