Footprints in the Sand' q/ A9 l$ \  U. H

; n3 e" f$ n- ?3 S- i: vOne night I had a dream
, f' n: s0 I5 T$ U6 q* CI was walking along the beach with my Lord.9 Y5 C" y1 d6 C7 b3 B
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
7 E  }, w. e1 a# v- P! v9 W- Q: FFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,0 |; M& q+ C; A% b! ?  p/ _  w6 z
one belonging to me2 r( D* ?  j; J& N& X8 h- I
and the other to my Lord.: ]- Y7 H. I' w8 L+ e3 Y" @2 I
When the last scene of my life shot before me; _2 S% d6 Q$ ~3 N# \* F" D
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
& m  X  K: |5 ^" T) L! N' hThere was only on set of footprints./ Q9 E* N: s, V' b: w
I realized that this was at the lowest
' e6 V! f8 F( p* p4 tand saddest times in my life.
9 q" y1 p3 m% ^( X0 M9 P# N" hThis always bothered me " W9 ?8 h9 i: C; ^- n
and I questioned the Lord
+ K6 ?" [# C9 h" ~about my dilemma.6 k7 q( Z3 F# U# a5 [
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,! A( V( T" Z4 ?% l. ^6 Y# X! q& i
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
5 K) ^8 `" ]/ t. a7 {# q+ YBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome
/ p9 u. \8 ^5 C2 S' Ttimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.
. ^& V' I- i9 E# L7 ]/ UI don't understand why, when I needed You most, 8 f! q. j6 F, `+ ]9 y- |6 p0 t
you leave me."9 C, k  p) G1 r8 n- s% ?

I love you and will never leave you

When you saw only one set of footprints
