Lord, . F& M \4 {/ E% Z; j3 ]
having transformed
; X. Q/ b# v2 k& G# U* Y* @4 x0 jsunshine and soil and water and seed,' z+ ]; ^4 G3 {% ?; C7 h/ T; ?
into food upon which we are soon to feed, B+ Q* `2 Z% D1 F
we thank you for life and we want to stay well, x9 p& E* ~$ _7 D
so we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
3 f) x, e( n# l- dWe who came first and are ready to dine% e- y, H8 Z7 G. z; N, c; l9 [
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line, * Z/ l, P0 v- O$ j
but for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
; }. s0 F" a9 m; W, P0 c' b1 J' Awe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.# T" V/ ?+ N+ D/ a. v" ~
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others
" l! f# B) y* g9 z- ethe way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

- Y; R1 ~" w0 {We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted * A# h2 l7 ~4 C' R& b) C& R
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted , ]; P0 x% D3 y& w2 Q# r0 T
