Footprints in the Sand

( z9 K' B8 c, z' {  t3 i' c7 r. qOne night I had a dream0 X/ E+ ?9 G/ }# n  H
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.7 T  [3 @7 h3 w
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.4 w5 i/ v% O0 T" l
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,/ A0 r* l. k: i/ e) L
one belonging to me
1 O- W+ B1 }# V0 T: e( d7 _0 Nand the other to my Lord.4 ]/ [: p  b) m+ w
When the last scene of my life shot before me
# [7 d) ]4 k" [$ l7 n3 z$ R' [: KI looked back at the footprints in the sand.
2 S, Z( g1 D6 Z! ?0 R- |5 zThere was only on set of footprints.! g, b2 ~2 T9 _
I realized that this was at the lowest 3 c" O+ U6 @. Q$ o8 G- t: U* h
and saddest times in my life.
+ W" a% E: p2 v9 y  Y  gThis always bothered me
/ l8 f4 ^- ^) ^* j( r* ]and I questioned the Lord5 r" {: Q5 m% B/ x- q$ }
about my dilemma.
$ J  r( j) R6 E' L  J9 d"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
/ X/ ^6 }4 o/ t1 iYou would walk and talk with me all the way.
7 s3 E; N; u% e  GBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome
3 Z' A4 Z( R  S  b6 q9 ?# ^times of my life there is only one set of footprints.
) a+ j4 W0 ?9 A7 `$ |3 e+ B6 LI don't understand why, when I needed You most,
- v% q" Z$ ?( ]6 [you leave me."
8 D$ G) L- {$ I0 h# n" G2 {0 Z7 ~He whispered,  "My precious, precious child,2 f0 z/ [/ p8 o8 w4 I: G
I love you and will never leave you3 ^: F6 a( Y2 T. V' V- i$ i+ w6 K
never, ever during your times of trial and testings.7 W+ M7 C/ p" B
When you saw only one set of footprints. R8 G( q7 k& B" m" X
It was then that I carried you."
